Joan Almedilla plays Aurora Aquino in Center Theatre Group's all-new production of Here Lies Love at the Mark Taper Forum.

A veteran of the musical's early development, Almedilla performed as Imelda Marcos in the 2007 Carnegie Hall concert presentation of songs from the show, alongside composer David Byrne. Now, she brings depth and power to the role of Aurora Aquino, the resilient mother of opposition leader Ninoy Aquino, whose story fuels the revolution at the heart of this groundbreaking disco-pop musical.

Her performance underscores the production's themes of power, resistance, and people-powered change, inviting audiences to "come for the party [and] stay for the revolution."
